TME is a partnership between the Academic Center for Exploratory Students and the Center for Career Development. Both departments have staff dedicated to helping students navigate their major exploration journey.
You have the ability to make appointments with Academic Advisors and Career Counselors. While both groups of professionals can help you get started, they do have different specializations. Read below to identify who can best address your needs.
If you're still not sure even after reading the descriptions below, simply make an appointment with anyone. No matter who you start with, you will get pointed in the right direction.
Academic Advisors are professionals who are here to assist you throughout your major exploration journey. They are well-versed in all UConn majors. You should connect with an Academic Advisor if you are interested in learning about the academic details of any UConn major such as major content, course requirements and planning, admission requirements (if applicable), contacts within the major, etc.
Career Counselors are professionals who are here to assist you throughout your major exploration journey. If you are looking to learn about how majors connect to careers, both directly and indirectly, as well as how to articulate your skills in relation to your potential career path, these are the people to contact.
