TME Mentors are current UConn students from the various majors at the University. They use their own experiences to give other students a taste of what it's like to be in their program of study. Think about it....if you're interested in sociology and want to know what it's like to be a sociology major, who better to contact than a current sociology student? A TME Mentor's main responsibility involves fielding questions through the TME website from other students who are interested in their major. Click here to see how this works.
If you are interested in applying to become a TME Mentor, review all of the information below and complete an application!
What are the responsibilities?
- Check UConn email at least once per day
- Respond to any questions within 3-5 business days. This includes summer and winter breaks. If you are away for more than a week without access to e-mail, communicate that to the Program Manager.
- Mentors can volunteer to be a part of events such as University Open House, First Year Experience courses, various workshops, etc.
- Mentors are encouraged to share ideas that contribute to the overall success of TME
Am I eligible?
- Full-time undergraduate student at UConn (12 credits or higher)
- In good academic standing
- Completed at least one full semester of upper-level courses in your major
- At least 2 full semesters remaining
- There are a list of open positions by schools/colleges at the bottom of this page

At this point in the term, applications for TME Mentor roles are closed. We look forward to welcoming more mentor application when our recruitment process begins in February 2026.
