WHAT IS MUSIC?

The Department of Music offers a variety of undergraduate degrees. Whether you are preparing for a career as a performer or educator or you simply want to learn more about music, the Department of Music has a degree for you.
Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees:
- Bachelor of Arts with a major in music*
- Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Music History
- Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Jazz Studies
*The Bachelor of Arts with a major in music allows students to pursue their love of music [their desire to study music]and at the same time pursue other academic interests, including majors or minors in other departments and programs within the University.

HOW TO DECLARE:
AUDITION. Auditions are typically held twice a year (once in December for spring admission and several dates in early spring for fall admission). Audition requirements can be found here. You can schedule an audition here.
HELPFUL INTRO COURSES:
Typical courses for a first semester music major would include classes such as Class Instruction in Piano, Ear Training and Musicianship 1 and Harmony 1. However, you must first contact Eva Gorbants to request seats in these courses.
