WHAT IS HISTORY AND SOCIAL STUDIES EDUCATION?
This major is part of the Education Exploration Group
The history and social studies program offers preparation leading to certification in grades 7-12. Graduates are prepared to teach history, civics, sociology, economics, geography, and anthropology, along with a wide range of area studies and courses ordinarily associated with social studies. Students complete general education requirements, a 42-credit subject area major in History and Social Studies, and required courses in professional education.
HOW TO DECLARE:
APPLICATION REQUIRED. Applicants MUST complete 54 credits of undergraduate coursework by the end of the spring semester prior to their official admission to the program. Strong GPA and interview required. Find more information and the application here.
