WHAT IS FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT?

Financial Management Major Website

The Financial Management major (offered only at the UConn Stamford campus) is specifically designed to prepare students for careers in corporate money management and investment. The curriculum is closely tied to professional financial services practice. It was developed in partnership with the local Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) society (SCFAS), and prepares students to take the first level of the CFA exams which leads to the CFA designation.

There are many career opportunities for students that complete this major, including working as a financial analyst, asset manager, and research associate for investment companies, investment banks, hedge funds, insurance companies and securities brokers.

Students who major in Financial Management are eligible to apply to the Accelerated Master's Programs in the School of Business.
